Young people are often offered a house in which they feel unsafe, with no other choices. Here they talk about the kind of house they believe they should be offered.
My House
I will be given a choice of houses.
I will not be offered a house where I do not feel safe or where I am cut off from my friends, family and support networks
I will be given a brochure about any house that I am offered, that I can read and think about, before I go and view it
I will not have to move into my house without essential furniture
Before I move into my house, I should be given enough time to get essential furniture
It will not be damp
It will be clean
It will be painted and any repairs done
It will have working electricity and a working heating system
It will have a working toilet and hot and cold water
